Hello everyone. After almost 2 months. Stupid exams. Stupid.
Since my last blog, there were many games. Many many many. I don't have that much time, so I'm just going to skip it.

We've also had lots of injuries since my last blog. The worst was Robin van Persie, who's out for a long time and Nicklas Bendtner who will be back only in January. Now Eduardo and Rosicky have also gotten themselves injured. We're down to just 3 strikers because Walcott has just gotten fit and the other two are Arshavin and Vela.

There was some talk that Wishere wanted to go on loan to another Premiership club.
I personally don't want to see a player leave with the injury situation we have. Bet then, it all depends on Wenger who is backing Wilshere's decision.

Wenger said,

"It is important for Jack to play, so if we find a good opportunity, we will consider it,"

In some other news, Vela signed a new long-term deal at Arsenal. Which is good news.

Now to the Olympiakos game, We lost 1-0, But it was a game we should have EASILY won. Vela squandered a couple of chances. It was the youngest team ever played in the Champions League, And Silvestre was old enough to be a father of all the players.
Ramsey had a great game though.

Lets leave all that now.
News is Theo has signed a new contract!!
Oh, Oops, Its not with Arsenal, but with some stupid bookhouse. He's signed up to write childrens books?! What the hell's happening? Thats just insane.
But the good news is he is back for Sundays game against the Scousers and he also put down claims saying that he is 'injury prone'

Alisher Usmanov increased his shares at Arsenal. That takes his stake upto a little more than 26%.

Then some news ahead of Sunday, LOTS of injuries, lots of 'em.
Eboue is out with some larynx something. And Walcott, Diaby and Eduardo will be back. Hope there are no more injuries because we got only 15 fit players now,

Looking forward to a good game,
Till then.

Now, Finally some real football after 2 weeks of boring internationals.
First of all a very Happy Diwali to everyone reading the blog today.
Now, for some real news, We've got Birmingham this week, Away, Early kick-off- Things that don't really matter. The most important thing is, We have a game, And we should win it quite easily.

Some team news,
Eduardo(thigh) is missing out. But I read that even Martin Taylor is injured, so no revenge, but still, we'll miss his football. Then, there's the curious case of Manuel Almunia, Arsene said he will return to the side. But will he get picked? I'd rather pick Vito. He's in the form of his life and moreover Manuel has just recovered. We can afford to give him some time.
Nasri is still injured, Arsene said, "Nasri is not back yet; he is still two weeks from playing competitive football”
Gael Clichy will will miss the game too after injuring his ankle on international duty. Denilson and Djourou are still out with long term injuries, But Denilson should be fit by November.

We've also got a Champions League midweek game against AZ Alcazar, another game we should win comfortably.

The main news that kept me going during the boring interlull was Stan Kroenke. He now owns 28.9% of the club, after buying more shares, which I hope he's paid for, and that takes him ever so close to the 29.9% mark that will make him make an offer for all the club's shares, which is welcomed by club chairman Peter Hill-Wood.

Peter Hill-Wood said,

"It looks like he is going to complete the takeover, which I welcome. I have not asked hime of his plans, but I am very relaxed. Don't expect many changes because he likes things just the way they are."

Nothing more this week, Just small interesting stories I've been getting via Twitter (follow me here) which I Re-Tweet.

That's all this week, Till then, Enjoy the game. Enjoy the win I should say.

Everything I've missed

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

First of all I'm sorry I missed more than two weeks of entries. My net was not working for 10-12 days, then I was a bit busy, and bored with no football. I didn't know what to write about and didn't have much time. So, today is Sunday, plenty of time, So, I'm going to write about everything I missed.

Everything from the Olympiacos game, Stan Kroenke increasing his stake, Arsene Wenger becoming the longest serving manager for us, The Blackburn thumping, Cesc back to his best.

First of all,

The Olympiakos game.

We beat them 2-0.
Both goals coming late on, One from Robin van Persie and One rather offside goal from Arshavin, taking nothing away from that sweet finish though.

Olympiacos were the most defensive team I've ever seen. It was one of the matches in which I actually felt a bit bored seeing attack after attack from Arsenal. Olympiacos were just about hanging on because of their goalkeeper who was very good that night. But you cant win with a team so defence-minded. Arsenal dominated the whole match. I didn't feel scared we might only get a draw. I knew we'd win. It was just a matter of time, when the goals were going to come.

Olympiakos 2-0.jpg

The post match comments from Zico, saying the officials were Frenchmen and that's why we blah blah blah.. were just.. Stupid to say the least.

Back to something more important, Cesc played brilliantly, He's back to his best, Even against Blackburn, which I will talk about more later in this post. He just bossed the midfield. Arshavin looked in better shape and was indeed much fitter and had a good game.

Some more important comments now,

Arsene Wenger said after the match,

"We dominated the whole match. We were very dicipline. We have matured and a game like that shows that we have."

Financial Results

Our financial results were announced, and guess what? WE'RE LOADED! We've got pots and pots of cash! Record profits have been announced

But the decision whether to spend it or not is entirely Arsene's. Even if we don't spend it, atleast we've got it!
Arsene takes great pride in the profits saying he is doing his job. And we all agree with him. He is doing a great job this season.

About the money and the squad, Arsene said,

"There is money to spend but at the moment I am very happy with the squad I have,It's not because I'm against spending money; I have nothing against spending money. It is not a personal thing, it is just that I have a squad that is strong enough to compete."

I don't mind if we keep winning frankly.

13 years of Arsene Wenger

Arsene.jpg

Arsene Wenger has become our longest serving manager after George Allison.
As fans, we owe a lot to Arsene. He has done a lot for the club. He joined Arsenal when I was two years old so I cant say much about that, All I read and heard is that we were a bit shaky and he came and revitalised the squad with new training techniques and changed our style of play.

Wenger double 1998.jpg

But something I can say for certain is that, We got a fancy new stadium because of him, and we keep out spot in the Champions league because of him.

There were lots of comments and praise for Arsene.
Few of them were from out players. The few notable one's were from Cesc and Gael.

Cesc said,

"He has been the most important influence in my short career. He took me here, made me train with the first-team when I was 16 years old - I was training alongside Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp and Patrick Vieira so I was lucky to learn from the big players.

For me it was a very big step forward. The manager took the risk to put me in the team. I have to thank him for that and now I have to pay him back for what he has done for me."

Gael Clichy said,

"In football you always want to be the best and win trophies. So when you don't have the results everyone wants, people start to talk. In the last few years we haven't won anything so people talk badly about him.

But I believe we have to think about what he has done for the club. I really hope this year will be a good one for him and the fans."

Stan Kroenke

The other news was that Stan Kroenke increased his stake at Arsenal.
He bought 80 more shares at Arsenal taking his total to 28.7%. He is coming closer to the 29.9% threshold that would force him to make an offer for the remaining shares.

Arsenal 6-2 Blackburn Rovers

Arsenal gave Blackburn a thumping at the Grove. We beat them 6-2. The 6 gaols came from 6 different Arsenal players. The two Blackburn goals were fluke.

But forget all that.
Cesc Fabregas! He dominated the game. He had four assists and one brilliant goal.
HE IS BACK!

Fabregas commented on the Barcelona players saying that 'Cesc would be great at Arsenal' and, 'Cesc had Barca DNA and all that, by saying

"There’s always speculation I don't like it here but I am committed to this club 100 per cent. It’s my seventh season and it’s hard to hear people say they think I’m not committed enough. It was a good time to show them I really love this club."

We were down after Rovers struck first when Steven Nzonzi headed in from Paul Robinson's free-kick.

Vermaelen came back and scored with a brilliant left footed shot.

Cesc 6-2 Rovers.jpg

The Rovers scored again. And a van Persie goal followed by a Arshavin goal got us the lead by half-time. Then it was Arsenal all the way, Fabregas scored one, Walcott got one and Bendtner scored a beauty.

Fabregas had a brilliant game, setting up all attacks.

I loved the game. Watched the whole 90 minutes. It was just like the Arsenal football I like to see.

Fulham 0-1 Arsenal, Vito, You Are Brilliant

Fulham 0-1 Arsenal.
We didn't play that well to be honest, we played better at Old Trafford than what we played yesterday, but still ended up winning. Just.

mannone.jpg

All thanks to the new young Italian, Vito Mannone. Our first half was a bit frustrating. We didn't play as well as we should have played.. Very few chances came. Didn't convert any of them.
Second half we looked better. Had a few chances, Robin van Persie managed to score a goal of a brilliant Cesc Fabregas pass. Something for him after his shocking comments..

The next day he went on to say,

"I exaggerate but I don't dive"

Bendtner had a couple of chances which he missed and Eboue had the easiest chance in stoppage time when the whole of the Fulham defence were attacking, One on one with the keeper, and he doesn't come anywhere close to the target. Straight into the stewards hands.

On the whole, Mannone had a brilliant game. Absolutely brilliant. Vermaelen was good. Gallas took a couple of knocks but must be ok. Clichy had a decent game. So did Sanga. Cesc, Song had good games as well. Diaby had a terrible game. When he had the ball he didn't know what to do with it. By the time he thought what to do with it.. the balls' off his feet. Thats bad. van Persie had a good game, with the one goal he scored. Bendtner had a better game than his previous games. Arshavin was nowhere near his best, But, The guys just come off an injury, lets give him some time. Rosicky had a good game too.

I'm personally really looking forward to seeing Walcott in action and I'm waiting for Arsene to give Rosicky a start.

Arsene Wenger on the website said after the match that,

"Vito's performance was 10 out of 10"

Frankly for a guy playing only his fourth match, he was fantastic. I have been seeing Almunia for 2 seasons, I have never seen him keep so well in any match. I guess it would have been 5-1 or something if it was Almunia.

Ok, letting that go, I hope we can keep Vito at the club. I think that he will stay, after seeing what we did to Adebayor..

Arsenal draw Liverpool

Arsenal have drawn Liverpool in the 4th round of the Carling Cup. I still feel Arsene will go with a full youngster squad, This will be a good test for them. I would love to see a win from them.

Other matches are,

Blackburn v Peterborough

Man City v Scunthorpe

Tottenham v Everton

Barnsley v Man Utd

Chelsea v Bolton

Sunderland v Aston Villa

Portsmouth v Stoke

Thats all today, we've got a game against Olympiacos in the Champions league on Tuesday. Looking forward to that. I think we'll win that game. Our next Premier League Game is against Blackburn at home I think. We should win that too.

Welcome Back Theo And Andrei

First up, we've got great team news for the Fulham game this weekend, Arshavin is back and Walcott has resumed full training. van Persie has to undergo a fitness test but he'll be fine. Meanwhile, Almunia is still out with his chest problem so I guess it'll be either Vito Mannone or Wojciech Szczesny in goal. Mostly I think Arsene will go with Mannone, who's played couple of games last week. You can read the full team news here.

Theo Walcott resumed full training recently after recovering from his back problem. Whether or not he'll play against Fulham? Here's what Arsene said:

"I don't know. He is still a bit short because it's the week he's back to full, normal training. But the good news is that he's available again."

Although there's a better chance of him playing the midweek Champions League game. Walcott's thoughts and comments here..

arsene-wenger101.jpg

Arsene also went after the Bordeaux president Marie-Claire-de-Lune after his comments on Arsene's pursuit of striker Marouane Chamakh. Reports on that from the club website and the Guardian

"It's very difficult for me to understand any statement of that kind from him. I'm ready to make a press conference with him if you want. We can sit down here with the player and the president of Bordeaux and have an explanation. You will see what I did and I'm sure the president of Bordeaux will agree with what I say."

chamakh.jpg

That's all today.. Hope we win tomorrow. Robin van Persie has said that the Fulham game is a kind of game we must win. Lets see and hope that happens..

Arsenal 2-0 West Brom

Arsenal beat West Brom 2-0 yesterday in the Carling Cup and advanced to the 4th round. The goals came from youngsters Sanchez Watt and Carlos Vela. I thought Vela played brilliantly.

Vela.jpg

You can watch the full highlights here

After the Match, Arsene Wenger said;

"We played with cohesion and intelligence and didn't make mistakes"

I loved how Vela played, he was just brilliant, although AW says he might not play against Fulham. Arsene Wenger said that:

"He needs more time, he is not ready. He was not even ready to start tonight but he needs to work. We have Van Persie, Bendtner, Eduardo and Vela as strikers. Of course he is in my plans, he can play as a winger as well. He can play wide left, wide right, he can play central, he can play as a goalkeeper, he can do physio, the stadium announcer's job, kit man, and he does a mean Pat Rice impression. He gives you plenty of options."

Jerome Thomas Slaps Jack

Moving on,

Former young Gunner Jerome Thomas slapped poor ol' Jack Wilshere because he refused to hold his hand/shake hands after Thomas went on him rough. Stupidity.

27 year old slaps 17 year old because 17 year old refused to shake hands with 27 year old. ONLY IN England!

Apparently the baggies manager Roberto Di Matteo is 'unhappy with Wilshere.. But why?

Wilshere.jpg

Arsene Wenger commented on this saying,

"He has something which is very difficult to give to players, no matter how big the game is he takes the ball and takes people on. He still sometimes has a little lack of experience in his decision-making but you see there is something special there."

Bordeaux have warned Arsenal off a January transfer, but we may get him next summer.

Thats it for today,
next up Fulham at Craven Cottage. How we win that,
Gooo Arrsseennaall!

Wigan Verminated

Sorry I didn't write for 3 days, I was a bit busy. Enjoying the win!

Ok. Arsenal 4-0 Wigan. A very good result for us. Vermaelen is turning out to be a brilliant signing for us. Played well almost every game for us, except the Man City game I guess, where I thought out defending was poor. Vermaelen netted in two, Eboue/Eduardo one and finally in the 90th minute Cesc scored one. 4-0. Good result. I felt Mannone had a good game too, compared to the one against Standard. All-round, we had a great game, except for Song, who looked a bit shaky. But doesn't really matter, If we keep winning that is.

gun__1253377703_vermgoal.jpg

After the match,
Arsene Wenger talked a bit about the brilliant new signing, Thomas Vermaelen

Then about the game saying,

"We played well not to concede and it will be a boost for the team. We had about ten chances and gave away two. But I think we’ll be more and more solid when we get used to the way we want to play"

We love you Thierry

Thierry Henry made strong comments on the Adebayor incident saying

"I won the treble with Barcelona last year, but I know if it wasn’t for Arsene Wenger and Arsenal I would not be the player I am today. I think the same has to be true of Adebayor. He might be one of the world’s top strikers today, but he wasn’t before Arsene got hold of him and gave him that chance. Arsene puts a lot of investment in you when he sees talent and I don’t think it would hurt for Adebayor to show him, the club and the fans a little more respect"
.

No matter what Adebayor’s emotions were, he could have earned himself a lot of respect by not celebrating the goal. That would have shown real class, and that to be honest is what most players choose to do when they score against their old clubs. I don’t really understand why he didn’t do that.

RVP and Vermaelen

Robin van Persie has special praise for Thomas Vermaelen saying,

"I'm happy he is on my side. In training everyone mixes up so I play against him. He is tough and it's good because I am training against proper defenders."

"The first one showed he is very, very strong from corners and free-kicks and that is very important for us. Even if we play badly we can always score from set-pieces.

I would have been proud of his second goal."

Thats all for Today. I'll bring you a preview for the Carling cup tie against tomorrow. All the best to the young gunners for that one. Hope they do what they did last year in the Carling Cup.

Wigan Preview

Not much happening for a Friday this time.. But nevertheless, here's today's blog..

OK, first up, tomorrows game, Wigan. Home.

Team news is that Robin van Persie will mostly be back for the game. So that's great news.
While Arsene Wenger says Arshavin has a 10% chance for making it I think he has a 0% chance of making it. He cant get fit so quickly can he?
Meanwhile Denilson is out for 2 more weeks (back). And of course Nasri, Walcott, Vela still injured.

Eboue and Cesc give it to Adebayor

Now, enough small talk, lets get the main issue. The Fool. Adebayor. Again in the news, Three Match Ban Confirmed!!!
Apparently, Alex Ferguson is 'pleased' Adebayor is going to miss the derby.

Now, Must-see pics of what all Adebayor did to us in the 4-2 loss..

These pics are copyrighted. So i h ave to post the link. I cant publish it here, I can be charged legally!

First up,
Robin van persie stamp- New close up.. BAD..

Cesc Fabregas

Heres an interview with Adebayor, where he tells us why he 'lost it' .. booo..

Because WE "abused" Him??

Song has also joined in saying, He kicked 'everyone,'

Whole lot of crap comin from Adebayor.. Shup up fool. You Are who you are because of us, and Arsene.

But thats all old. Recently, Cesc and Eboue gave him a mouthful..

Fabregas said:

"All I tried to do when he was at Arsenal was to create opportunities for him to score. So I think I didn’t do too bad for him. It is a bit strange. It is football and we don’t think about him any more. He doesn’t play for Arsenal and we just have to concentrate on our game and our play."

Read full comments from MirrorFootball and BBC

Eboue, Adebayor's very good friend has also lashed out saying,

"I’ve not spoken to him because I am very disappointed in him, it was a bad thing to do. For me, Adebayor didn’t do well and that is no good for football because you have a lot of young people who watch the game and then, they see that and it’s no good for football."

He also said,

If Ade calls me, I will speak with him. But he hasn’t called me yet. I’ll wait. If he calls me, I say ’Thank-you God’, if he doesn’t call me, that’s his problem.

More news,Wenger lashes out on Karl Heinz Rummenigge's "Child Trafficking allegations.

Tomas talks about his trophy-hunger

And why Philippe stayed at the club..

Nothing more.. Might release a last minute small blog just before the game tomorrow, Till Then hope we win tomorrow and GOOO GUUNERRS!!

Standard Liege 2-3 Arsenal

Ok, first up, the important things. Arsenal beat Standard Liege yesterday, 3-2. After being 2-0 down in the 5th minute. We didn't play as well as we could've, but a result is a result. We won. They lost. Although we played badly I felt Standard had no defence, so we were able to come back to score three goals and win. So, just happy that we won, and 3-points is still 3-points. No matter how you get it. The first goal was Eduardo's mistake, but never mind. The second penalty, ohhh.. I felt there was no contact, the only contact was outside the box. Our first goal, nice pass from Abou Diaby to Nicklas Bendtner, who I think finished very very well, What do you know? The guy was right. Maybe he can play forward..? Now, the second goal(hehe) was bad refereeing, but good for us!. The ball clearly hit Song's arm and went to Vermaelen who was way more than clearly offside.
But we need luck, and lately we haven't been getting any. Then the third goal was a corner, well taken, Hit Eduardo's leg and went in. Well, maybe it was out lucky night, But I wouldn't oppose the Standard fans if the say they didn't deserve to lose. But after the two Manchester games, WE needed luck. And we got it.

Thumbnail image for Gallas+vermaelen.jpg

Arsenal players I felt um,
Mannone had a poor match. Very clumsy, and here's a fact, His first two touches, were picking the ball from the goal.

Eboue Good game. Steady. Cleared the ball well.

Gallas He didn't have a particularly great game, but i guess he was clumsy here and there, On a whole,- Not Bad.

Vermaelen Nothing short of Brilliant. Unflustered. Won almost all headers. Brilliant defending. Now, that's a great signing.

Clichy Had couple of bad moments. Saved thanks to Thomas.

Song Defended quite OK. But was looking lost when game tempo increased.

Fabregas Captained well. Motivated his team very well. And didn't have a bad game either.

RosickyAhhh. I was waiting to see him start. And he had a great game despite playing on 70 minutes. I am amazed at him, especially since it was his first start in 18 months. Good Work!

Diaby Mix of this+that. He was brilliant sometimes, and horrible at times.

Eduardo and Bendtner Had a good game, except Edu's backheel which led to the first goal. I think Bendtner finished off the first goal quite well.

Watch the full match highlights here

Arsene Wenger said after the match:

"When you go 2-0 down after five minutes, you know you have a big task in front of you. To win away from home in the Champions League and score three goals will always be tough. We fought back with a goal and then in the second half, when they got tired, we got set-pieces and took advantage of it."

Harry Redknapp slams "idiot" Arsenal fans

Harry Redknapp. Mind Your own business. Twichy.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp has criticised Arsenal fans for their reaction to the Emmanuel Adebayor goal in the Gunners recent defeat to Manchester City.

Harry Redknapp said commented about the Arsenal fans calling us "idiots" and "nutters", for our reaction to the Adebayor celebration. Insulting, Totally.

See the press conference video here

In the press conference, he said,

“It’s very difficult when you’re getting abuse like he was obviously getting throughout the game. He didn’t insight a riot, it’s idiots who want to start rioting behind the goal.

“I’ll be honest, if I had been standing there and we had been giving him grief all game, I would probably say: ‘Fair play.’

“What nutters want to cause riots? What do people want to riot for, why can’t they watch a game of football? Why do people need to shout abuse at everybody for? I don’t understand it.”

Get lost, fool.

Tomorrow will be a preview of Wigan.

Match Day

Today is the day, Arsenal's first group stage match of the UCL. We play Standard Liege today. Good news from yesterday is that we have Eduardo after his 2 match ban was overturned but we've lost many key players. That's the problem. The players are Robin van Persie, Denilson and Manuel Almunia.+Fabianski is also injured. So it's gonna be Vito Mannone in goal I guess. You can check out hte full team here

AW said he was confident about Vito, even though there is a lot of pressure on him playing his first UCL match.

Robin van Persie's absence means it will be Nicklas Bendtner and Eduardo will be playing forward with Sanchez Watt. I dont see any other proper strike force unless he wants to experiment with Eboue or something.

I would love to see Tomas Rosicky play but I don't think Arsene will risk him playing a full 90 minutes. So i gues it'll be Cesc, Abou, and Song I guess.
Song to me has been one of the most improved players I have seen at Arsenal lately. He became much better a player last season than what he was the season before.

We are not going with out full-strength squad so, I will be pretty happy if we return with full 3 points. Lets hope that happens.

Wenger's comments

Starting with the comment made about the Adebayor issue by Wenger:

Adebayor's challenge on Van Persie looks very bad. You ask 100 people, 99 will say it's very bad and the 100th will be Mark Hughes.

I love to hear such comments out of Arsene. And I agree with him 100%. Hughes has made a fool out of himself by saying what he said. He could've gone about saying something like : Adebayor made a mistake and I take it as my duty to see it never happens again..or something.. But No.. We all know how people related to City are don't we?

When he was asked about Robin van Persie's statement after the match in which RvP said:

He set out to hurt me today. I knew he was aiming for a collision because he changed the angle of his body to allow contact to be made. He moved backwards when his natural momentum would have taken him forward. I find that deeply disrespectful. He has shown a real lack of class today, to me and the fans.

Wenger replied:

If somebody stamps on your head in that way, you wouldn't say, 'thank you very much' and turn the other cheek. Only Jesus Christ did that.

Arsene Wenger, We love you!!!

Adebayor ban

Adebayor, if found guilty of violent conduct will get a ban of anything between 1 to 3 games. Still too less. but I guess it will do.

Thats all today. Hope we win. Till then,
GOOOOOO AARRSEENAALLL!!
